NAPCA Peer College Advisor Certification & High School Chapter Program

Certified Peer College Advisors (CPCAs) are high school and college student leaders who are recruited and trained to assist professional school counselors and college counselors. High School and College CPCAs co-lead a college-going team of 20 high school students from all grade levels.

CPCAs guide each member on their team through the process of developing their 10-year personal strategic plan of action (education & career plan) to guide their efforts to accomplish their education and career goals. Additionally, CPCAs will work with each student to ensure they are competitive applicants for admission to their top choice and best-fit postsecondary educational institutions.

NAPCA Parent College Advisor Certification Program

Parents train to become Certified Parent College Advisors (Parent CPCAs) to learn how to navigate through the college application process. Parent CPCAs apply their knowledge gained from training to help their children successfully navigate the college admissions and financial aid process. Additionally, parent CPCAs partner with high schools and counselors to provide support to students and parents school-wide through facilitating bi-weekly or monthly college knowledge workshops that will help other parents learn how to navigate through the college application process, secure financial aid and scholarships, and enroll into a regionally accredited two- or four-year college or career and technical training certificate or licensure program, specifically to be prepared to enter high skilled careers or trades.

  • After students complete one of our college and career exploration summer programs, students will be invited to remain in the NAPCA family through participating in our year-round college and career readiness counseling program.
  • Students will be assigned to a NAPCA college and career readiness counselor, who will provide academic support and college and career advising services during elementary, middle, high school, and college at no cost.
  • After our students graduate from college, students will continue to receive academic and career advising services at no cost until they have reached their future career goals.
